Voyage Terminated After Death of Woman Abandoned on Tropical Isle

An extensive 60-day voyage through the Australian Coast was terminated days after the tragic passing of an older woman who was stranded by the vessel on a distant coastal location.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the remote island with other travelers from the vessel, but separated from the party for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and returned later that day after the personnel became aware the passenger was missing.

A large-scale search operation discovered her person the next day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the tragedy, alongside police and the state coroner.

Head of the cruise operator stated that guests and staff on the ship were notified that the rest of the cruise had been terminated due to the "sad loss and previous technical problems".
