AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving

In a bizarre collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "An unusual encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.

The questline centers on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Changes

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material

Players who finish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Update

This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
